In ones life, what really matters most is the account of one’s SOUL. How you brought it to the supreme state by the virtues you fed it with.

The account of one’s soul is the ultimate summary of our whole being. So you might ask… What have i achieved and how did I nourish my soul. The answers could only be anchored deeply to the remnants and traces of all the actions that we undertook in the past..

We enumerate and look deeply at the values and the errors that we made and created as we navigated our course of destiny in order to form the foundations of our lives. We begin to balance the amount of light that we have given birth to out of darkness and and the shadows that we blocked in order to conceal the real light. We multiply the strength in order to deplete our weaknesses.

The conscience, mute and silent as it may be, delivers a very crucial role as to the total sum of who, what, how and why we are…

Righteousness.

A year before her passing I met Irena who was 97 years of age in Warsaw and learned a great deal about her. During the 2nd world war she took a great amount of risks in order to save over 2500 Jewish children from the ghetto by providing them with false documents and smuggling them out of the ghetto. Each child was meticulously documented on a piece of paper that was then rolled and kept in a glass jar which she  buried and hid during the entire period of the war.This is to ensure that they can keep track of their original and new identities. The children were placed with Polish families and various religious institutions all around Warsaw. In 1943 she was arrested by the Gestapo and was tortured and sentenced to death. She escaped death  through her co worker’s bribing the German guards on the way to her execution. For the remainder of the war she lived in hiding but continued her work for the Jewish children. After the war, she and her co workers gathered together all their documents with the names and records of all the hidden children and gave them to the Central Committee of Polish Jews. Almost all of the parents however, had been killed at the Treblinka extermination camp.

As I begin my preparation to another visit to Poland next month, I could not wait for the continuing lessons on despair and hope, hatred and compassion, arrogance and humility and most especially the morals of the unjust and righteousness. In this journey, i hope to encounter more of Irena’s spirit and legacy, for her memory is a radiant light that will constantly shine whenever I trace the vanishing line towards a very dark past.

The songline of Australian Aboriginals express the eternal richness of a culture that thrived for over 50,000 years. This culture, deep and diverse in modern era had suffered a continuous desecration through carelessness and insensitivity of the present world.. yet in their own way, they survived.

They fought wars of survival and continue to struggle socially, politically, economically and culturally..

Their sacred dances permeate through the current epoch providing a resonance of the dreamtime- a faint light in the tribal darkness that they continuously preserve. It is one of the aspects of their ancient wisdom that they protected and carried on so that our world may understand and respect.

I am honored to be a witness to these universal rites of life and be able to photograph a mere glimpse of these, in order to share with you the experience and thus allowing an increased awareness for the sake of all our providence.

Question?

How is one to live a moral and compassionate existence when one is fully aware of the blood, the horror inherent in life,when one finds darkness not only in one’s culture but within oneself?

If there is a stage at which an individual life becomes truly adult, it must be when one grasps the irony in its unfolding and accepts responsibility for a life lived in the midst of such paradox.. One must live in the middle of contradiction because if all contradiction is eliminated at once, LIFE would simply collapse..

There are simply no answer to some of the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the Light!

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart.. Try to love the questions themselves, like books written in a foreign language..Do not now look for the answers, they can not now be given to you because you could not live them.

It is a question of living and experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question.. perhaps you will gradually without even noticing it, find yourself and living the answer, some distant day.
